History Club Suspending All Events

April 2, 2020

The History Club is working to do its part to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, we are canceling all membership meetings and events until further notice.

Since 1879, our club has empowered women through sisterhood and civic pride. During those 141 years, we have witnessed and weathered many storms together – and this one will be no different. We may be socially distanced, but our purpose is united. We are focusing on our individual health and wellness, so we can emerge ready to take on the next chapter together.

We look forward to opening our doors again and welcoming our members and guests into the Clubhouse. Until then, please reach out to our board via email at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

Take good care of yourselves,

An Intimate, Historic Venue Near Downtown Sioux Falls

January 28, 2020

The History Club of Sioux Falls is ready for wedding season! Our clubhouse is the perfect small venue for couples seeking an intimate event in a quaint, historic setting.

Built in 1940, The History Club of Sioux Falls is located on Phillips in the historic All Saints neighborhood – just a couple blocks south of downtown. The location is convenient for wedding parties and guests staying at the nearby Hotel on Phillips, Holiday Inn City Centre, Hilton Garden Inn or Country Inn & Suites – all located less than a mile away. And for locals, the central location can’t be beat.

Our clubhouse can seat up to 80 guests around tables, and more – if seated in rows. We have basic white tables and chairs available for rental guests to use. Plus, a full kitchen for last-minute food prep and storage. Our rental team can answer specific questions about our facilities and what is included in the rental.

Parking is free, and first come-first served along Phillips Avenue. Public parking ramps are located a few blocks away, so large groups might consider carpooling.

And remember – we’re not just a wedding venue. Our stage makes the History Club perfect for small theatrical productions, magic shows, comedy shows and political forums.
Reach out to our rental team and contact us if you’d like to learn more – or to take a tour of our beautiful building!

Tea with Daughters of the Revolution

October 5, 2019

What a beautiful day for a tea party! ☕️☕️☕️
Today, the History Club welcomed our friends from the Mary Chilton DAR for a tea in their honor. The Mary Chilton Foundation has been a generous supporter of the History Club for many years, helping our historic non-profit maintain our clubhouse.

We were also joined by Tami Brown from the Spice & Tea Exchange, who shared so many interesting tea facts – and let us sample some amazing teas! We are full of gratitude for all of these remarkable women!
